1. For my research project, I’ve chosen to trace the advertisements of the Campbell’s Soup Company. I will look at all the various advertisements over the decades, as well as articles written about the company to find how the advertisements have changed or not and what this says about the marketing strategies of the company.
2. Given by my research thus far, I’ve found that the can and the slogan “mmm mmm good” have stayed the same. Also, the various advertisements have changed over time (i.e. in the sixties the cartoon children in the ads were portrayed as “flower children,” whereas recent ads appeal to soccer moms on the go), however the company has still been able to net that family appeal upon which the company was founded.
3. The Complete Encyclopedia of Advertising from Simpson Library contains various Campbell’s ads over the decades, as does an online article tracing the history of both the company as well as various ads.
4. I need a few more primary sources, and articles about the company, but I think I have my argument pretty set.

I like the argument that your research is framing. It is a little broad though, but it’s an immense topic that I think will be easier to narrow down once you develop a specific thesis. It seems like you have done quite a bit of research thus far, and it is interesting how you have looked at what aspects of the company have not changed. It seems as if you have successfully identified what advertising techniques the company utilizes in order to sell their products. It’s also great that you have found good resources that trace the Campbell’s company over the past few decades. Good work!
I really like your topic for your research paper, and by limiting your search to a specific topic, though Campbell’s will have a lot of information. You seem to have done some research to support your topic, and it seems like it’s going to be a very interesting paper, though I’m a little unclear as to what your argument is.
First of all, I really like your topic for research project. Also, I think your argument is pretty clear to me. The resoures that you found so far will pretty help you I think. Yeah, I think also that you need little bit more of primary sources as megazines, articles.

I agree with Sam that it still seems a little broad right now and you do not want to get too bogged down whan you research for this paper. I would suggest perhaps talking about how Campbell’s company has changed their ads to accomadate society as a whole. I think that you still need to do some more research but your sorce sounds reliable.
